An index, and an honest one. There is 1 piece under the label “Play”, and the list holds all of them — nothing left out to keep the page tidy, nothing added to make it look fuller than it is.

Everything on the list was filed in 2015. The dates under the headlines are the dates the pieces went up and they have not been touched since: an archive that quietly re-dates itself is worth less than one that admits how old it is.

The name survives from the old site; the desk that took its work over is Nets, and the full map of desks with their counts is on the section index.

What this page does not do is rank, score or recommend. There is no order of merit on it, no rating attached to any of the pieces and no summary that claims to stand in for reading them. An index earns its keep by being complete and straight about its dates, not by editorialising over the top of them.

Names were applied by hand as the pieces went up, which makes them uneven: some subjects carry three and some carry none at all. The archive and the section index do not have that problem, and both are worth trying if this page came out shorter than you expected.

The counts on this page are not decoration. Every number here is counted from the site’s own pages when the site is built: if a piece is taken down the number drops, and if one is added it rises. Nothing is cached, and nothing was entered by hand into a template.
