From the archive, and closed. The text above is the old site’s own announcement of a group night it ran with the arena, kept word for word because that is what was published at this address. The date on it has long gone, the flyer it mentions no longer exists and the offer cannot be taken up: treat it as a record of something that happened, not as an offer. This site sells nothing and takes no payment for anything.
What a group night actually is
Groups are a separate channel rather than a discount code. A block of seats is agreed with the club or the building ahead of general sale, it is held for a named organiser, and it is released back into the pool if the organiser does not pay for it by an agreed date. That is why group prices can sit below single-seat prices without anybody losing money on them — the seats were never on the open market — and why group bookings stop being available long before a game does.
The extras, and what they are worth
What gets attached to a block varies: a spot on the concourse before the doors open, a scoreboard message, a pre-game photograph on the floor, sometimes an appearance by somebody from the club. These are the reason a group night is organised at all, and they are also the part most likely to change or to be dropped, because they depend on people whose schedule is not the organiser’s. Anything promised as part of a block is worth having in writing from whoever is selling it.
Why a blog ran one
Group nights arranged through a fan site were common in the years this archive covers. A blog had a readership the club could not reach directly, the club had seats it wanted filled on a weekday, and the two things fitted together. The arrangement has aged badly in one respect: a page announcing one stays up, keeps its address, and goes on looking live to anyone who arrives from a search years later. Hence the note at the top of this one.
Nothing on this page should be read as a current offer, a price or an endorsement, and no payment should be sent to anyone on the strength of it. Group sales for events in the arena are handled by the club and by the building, and they are the only two sources for what is available now. The rest of this desk is on the Brooklyn desk, and anything about this page itself goes through Contact.
