2015 Draft Showcase: Delon Wright

With the NBA Draft less than three months away, we will be showcasing some of the top prospects that could fall to the Brooklyn Nets during the NBA draft. With the addition of Thaddeus Young, the Nets have shown that they want to get younger moving forward. This year, the Nets have rights to the 29th and 43rd picks in the draft.

The 2015 NBA Draft is full of many exciting prospects. Here’s a closer look at University of Utah’s Delon Wright. 

Position: PG/SG

Brief Description: Delon Wright, brother of Portland Trailblazers Forward Dorrell Wright, attended the City College of San Francisco before transferring to University of Utah. In his first year in Utah, Wright has became one of the top players in the Pacific-12 Conference.

Pros: Delon Wright is an aggressive offensive scorer. He has uncanny ability to drive to the basket and can finish well near the rim. In his past season, he averaged 14.9 points, 5.3 assists and 4.9 rebounds.

Weaknesses: Although Wright is an explosive scorer and an excellent passer, his defense needs work. He is often a defensive liability and lets the player he is guarding get the best of him.

Why the Nets should draft him: Besides Bojan Bogdanovic, Jarrett Jack, and Markel Brown, the Nets do not have many players who can come off the bench and play the point guard and shooting guard positions. Drafting Delon Wright with the first round pick would certainly be a step in the “Wright” direction.
