Deron Williams to the Rockets?

The Houston Rockets go after every star they have the opportunity to add, no matter the feasibility of the situation. Before Rajon Rondo was traded to the Mavericks, the Rockets were in the mix for trading for the All-star point guard.

With Rondo gone, it’s likely that the Rockets will go after Deron Williams or Goran Dragic.

Here is of Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report had to say:

“Daryl Morey, no doubt, is burning up the phones, and the expectation is that he’s going to go hot and heavy after a point guard.

They love Patrick Beverly, but ideally, he is the third guard in that rotation.

And to give an indication of just how aggressive they might be, sources around the league are saying don’t count Deron Williams out from the Brooklyn Nets, even though he has that fat contract and right now has a rib injury.”

Even though Deron Williams is injured, his massive contract is the only things that is preventing Williams from being shipped out to Houston. The Rockets could send a package including Jason Terry, Corey Brewer, and Alexey Shved and would still be almost $2.5 million dollars short of the Collective Bargaining Agreement rules. If a deal like this goes through, it is likely a third team would have to be involved for the salaries to work out.

For the Rockets, this trade is beneficial. However, for the Nets, maybe its time to part ways with the point guard who is now a shell of his former shelf.
