Starting Lineup
Every piece the desk filed on Starting Lineup, newest first.
1 piece, filed
An index, and an honest one. There is 1 piece under the label “Starting Lineup”, and the list holds all of them — nothing left out to keep the page tidy, nothing added to make it look fuller than it is.
Everything on the list was filed in 2015. The dates under the headlines are the dates the pieces went up and they have not been touched since: an archive that quietly re-dates itself is worth less than one that admits how old it is.
The pieces below are filed on Nets, so the desk is the better place to read around them: it puts them next to everything else on the same subject instead of only next to the ones that happen to share a name.
It is worth being clear about what is absent. No ratings, no recommendations, no ordering by quality, and no note telling you which of the pieces below still holds up. Those judgements belong in the writing, and where one of them turned out to be wrong it is said on the piece itself.
