Rumor Windup: Johnson Buyout, McCullough Return

The future is looking bleak for Brooklyn Nets forward Joe Johnson.

While Johnson is not actively seeking a buyout or looking to leave the Nets, he has contacted agent Jeff Schwartz to discuss plans for his career. Johnson, 34, is averaging 11.9 points and 3.9 assists this season and could be a valuable asset to a championship team looking to make a deep playoff run this season.

"I’m a professional, man. Obviously, this late in my career, this isn’t the ideal situation. But I’m not forcing anything.'' Johnson said.

The Nets, losers of five straight and 15 of the last 17, do have something to look forward. Chris McCullough has been medically cleared will be playing the Kings on Friday. Let’s see if the Syracuse big man can thrive in the NYC.
