Nets sign Thomas Robinson to multi-year deal
The Nets continued to act on their goal of getting younger and more athletic, agreeing to a two-year, $2.2 million contract with forward Thomas Robinson on Thursday evening.
According to Basketball Insiders’ Alex Kennedy, Robinson’s deal with the Nets will span two years, with the second year being a player option.
The former No. 5 overall pick has only been in the NBA for three seasons, but has already suited up of four teams (Kings, Rockets, Trail Blazers, and 76ers). During his short stint in Philadelphia, Thomas averaged 8.8 points and 7.7 rebounds in just 18.5 minutes a night.
At just $1.1 million a year, Thomas brings tenacity and energy on the boards and depth to the team’s bench in what may be the best value contract of the offseason.
