Sacramento Kings (13–17) at Brooklyn Nets (13–16) Game Preview
The Sacramento Kings will hit the road for the next four games, beginning their road trip at Barclays Center against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Kings, who has dropped their last four games away from home, are looking to end their losing streak against a Brooklyn team that has won three of the last four games.
On Saturday, the Kings departed California’s capital on a high note, registering a 135-129 overtime victory over the New York Knicks. DeMarcus Cousins scored a season-high 39 points in overtime and grabbed 11 rebounds., registering his 15th double-double of the season. Rudy Gay and Darren Collison added a combined 56 points for the Kings.
On the other side of the country, the Brooklyn Nets’ three-game win streak came to an end with Saturday’s 110-85 loss to the Indiana Pacers. Jarrett Jack and Joe Johnson pulled their weight, scoring 22 and 18 points respectively. However, the Nets bench was a no-show, and ultimately led to a loss.
“The group battled, we just couldn’t stop them,” Nets head coach Lionel Hollins said.
Brooklyn is 7-8 at home and will start a three-game road trip Tuesday against Chicago, Orlando and Miami. It is critical for the Nets to end their home stance on a good note.
The Nets and Kings will play the first of two meetings this season and are scheduled to battle again on January 21st. Hopefully, the Nets can improve to 8-8 at home and 14-16 on the season with a win at Barclays Center on Monday night.
