Trading Mason Plumlee to get Rondae Hollis Jefferson

Mason Plumlee was one of Brookyln’s most promising young stars, but his inability to play alongside Brook Lopez made him expendable. On draft night, the Nets flipped the former Duke star for Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, an elite and athletic defender out of Arizona. The Nets may have lost depth at the center position but were able to improve their defense that ranked among the worst in the league.

Plumlee has a ton of potential and wasn’t given adequate time to develop in Brooklyn. This may be a trade the team will regret years to come.

With the season starting today for the new-look Nets, it should be interesting to see whether the changes they made this offseason will help the team in the long run. Overall, I think the Nets made some moves in the right direction that can hopefully help the Nets make the postseason for the fourth straight season.
