Deron Williams will travel with team during the three-game road trip

According to Mitch Abramson of New York Daily News, Deron Williams will join the team on a three-game road trip as they begin the second half of the season, hinting the possible return of the All-star point guard.

The Nets will start their three-game road trip in Sacramento on Wednesday, but it is unlikely Williams will be joining the team on the court because he has not yet fully recovered from his fractured left rib cartilage.

Although Williams has not been participating in team scrimmages, he has hoisted jump shots during practice and has made progress towards returning to the team.

With the Nets clinging on to the eight and final playoff spot by only half a game, Williams’ return should add much-added depth at the point guard position for the Nets.

So far this season, Deron Williams is  averaging13.9 points a game and is only shooting 39.6% from the field. If he cant’t find ways to be more active in the team’s offense, the Nets may find themselves out of the playoff picture very soon.

“He’s such a high-IQ point guard,” Brook Lopez told New York Daily News. We all know that Williams has an uncanny ability to score and distribute to basketball; it’s just a matter of time before he can return to his All-star form.
