Nets defeat Pacers, extend win streak to four
The Brooklyn Nets won a pivotal game at home with a 111–106 victory over the Indiana Pacers, earning the tiebreak advantage over the Pacers and extending their winning streak to a season-high four games.
The Pacers scored the first 7 points of the game. However things changed quickly after a timeout when the Nets came storming back with a 33-8 run to end the first quarter. Although the Nets were up by 19 at one point they closed the 1st half with a mere 3-point edge. In the second half, no team was able to pull away from the other. But once the Nets got the lead in the fourth quarter, there was no going back.
Brook Lopez had a season high 20-point in the first half and didn’t stop there; he finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Alan Anderson came up big off the bench scoring 20 points in 22 minutes of play.Thaddeus Young returned after missing two games and added 8 points and 7 rebounds. Deron Williams reached 6,000 assists for his career with 8 of them coming in this game, along with 11 points.
For the Pacers, George Hill led the team in scoring with 28 points and former Net C.J. Watson chipped in 13 points off the bench.
Next, the Brooklyn will face the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks are battling for Draft picks at this point, but that didn’€™t stop their players from taking digs at the Nets. Jason Smith said ” Brooklyn, especially, are trying to get into that playoff picture. They are right there with Boston. We know that we can kind of be that spoiler.”
Hopefully, the Nets can extend their win streak to five tonight.
