Prokhorov shakes up Nets Front Office, makes more promises
In 2010, Brooklyn Nets owner and Russian Billionaire proclaimed, “If the Nets don’t win a championship within five years, I will punish myself by getting married.”
Today, Prokhorov remains single and the Nets have not advanced past the second round in the NBA playoffs.
After years of failed promises and broken dreams for the Nets fanbase, Prokhorov has final decided to make changes in the Brooklyn front office. Yesterday, Lionel Hollins was relieved of his duties as head coach and General Manager Billy King was re-assigned within the Nets organization.
So….that leaves who in charge?
Assistant coach Tony Brown will serve as interim head coach.
Assistant GM Frank Zunin will run Front Office for the remainder of the season.
Former GM Billy King’s new job will be to search for a new GM.
The Nets (10-27) are a mess, with no leadership, talent, or future. Luckily for the Nets, Michael Prokhorov has another promise for Nets fans:
“We need one or two players to be a championship contender.”
Don’t worry Nets fans, a championship is coming to Brooklyn. Well, at least Prokhorov thinks so.
